Re: Engine shenanigans...
Sounds like a nice mild street setup.
Re: Engine shenanigans...
Engine porn.
"The simple answer is, even if I have decided I still don't know what to do."
Re: Engine shenanigans...
Excellent stuff. Looks real good. I am glad you were able to convince the owner the upgraded parts was worth the cost and effort.
Interestingly I noted the large pulley in the alternator. I changed my one out for a similar sized one as one of today's jobs.

I will someday think of something clever to say.
Re: Engine shenanigans...
Thanks to Trav for some good looking engine work and Mike for removal and installation. Having just lost my job this made me smile.
Shame I spent the engine rebuild money I had stashed for the project car on my running car, but Id rather have at least one running
Now its time to connect electrical and cooling and finish it off with Trav making necessary adjustments etc.

Re: Engine shenanigans...
Sorry to hear about your job mate, anything on the horizon?
Re: Engine shenanigans...
Looking good in her home. Sorry to hear about your job - I am sure something will turn up for you,
As far as an engine for the project car is concerned, history tells us that Trav will be tired of his current engine and will what more so solution is in hand.

Re: Engine shenanigans...
Boof you have no faith! I have clocked up over 5000kms on the new stroker over the last 5 months so it is getting close ( nassi's only made about 6000km in my ride).
Was thinking a highly strung stock stroke 302 might be an interesting option....

Re: Engine shenanigans...
I have a very good plan for a high strung 302 - I am talking a 7.5 - 8k target RPM peek HP. Any way, if you want to talk about it feel free to chat.

Re: Engine shenanigans...
Bugger that... it's time someone built a turbo 302 on the site.
Get on it
Get on it
Re: Engine shenanigans...
A twin turbo setup - no worries have had a lot of thought into one of those designs as well. But it would likely require the removal or modification of the shock towers.
So Hybrid you game - 347 twin turbo...... with a stack injection. I know I know same problem as me - wallet full of moths.

Re: Engine shenanigans...
Whats the recipe for your rev'ing 302?

As I said to you the other week: if I knew then what I know now....
Re: Engine shenanigans...
Had an interview last Friday, got a few applications on the go... and my other full time job looking after kids and doing the list of jobs my wife and family want doing will keep me out of trouble in the interim.nassi wrote:Sorry to hear about your job mate, anything on the horizon?

Re: Engine shenanigans...
I've been thinking about the rebuild of my Dart block and you can apparently get to 347 buy using a 331 stroke and 4.125 pistons. This would make a 347 that will want to rev as well as unshrouding the valves.boofhead wrote: I have a very good plan for a high strung 302 - I am talking a 7.5 - 8k target RPM peek HP.
