Guys, I'm looking at tidying up my firewall and want to remove any holes that are either not required, as I'm thinking of hidden wiring or that don't belong there in the first place.
It is a 64 1/2 and I didn't have the pleasure of removing everything myself hence the ask for help identifying the holes.

I have numbered them and listed the ones I think I know. Any help much appreciated.

1. Wiring harness
2. 2 holes for single wires ?
3.
4. Brake mastercylinder and 4 mounting holes
5. Screws to mount plate for m/c mounting
6. bolts for mounting handbrake
7. steering column
8. s/ column seal mount screws
9. handbrake cable hose
10.
11.
12. Accelerator linkage
13. Accel linkage mount
14.
15.
16. brakeline clamp
17. firewall insul clip
18. A/C hoses
19. Harness - engine
20.
21.
22. firewall insul clip
23.
24.
25.
26.
27. brake line clamp
28. Heater hose
29. firewall insul clip
30.
31. H/brake cable bracket
32.

thanks
Dave

Pretty sure 10 is the park brake cable. It goes through a rubber tube.
23 and 25 I think are the firewall insulation clips that go in from the inside.

If it's oval then yes that's right.
It looks quite different to my 66 actually.

Not familiar with the early 65's, but 26 is a mount for a 6 cyl throttle rod bracket.

A Chassis FAM may clarify others.

Thanks guys.
It looks like 23 and 25 are for the wiring harness clips from the photos.
I'll take your word on 26 mert.
Is number 10 for the spedo cable?
Number 32 is that for A/C drain? It's approx 20mm diameter.

26. Not Used

Only on 8 cylinders.

Bad pic, but one I was given when I was researching these on my 68 S codes. 6 cyl throttle rod bracket mounts across the tunnel, so they were uses in some instances, original post does not note if its a 6 or 8.

Ford seem to have punched these on most cars, even though they were not used a lot... odd... but what seems to be the case.

On my 65, the accelerator linkage bracket uses the top 2 holes identified as 13 and the hole identified as 14.

The lower of the holes identified as 13 is covered by the bracket and isnÒ€ℒt used.

Hole 24

On my 65 it's a wiring clip holding the center console cabling up under the dash.

Yep same deal with my 66.....

Only 3, 11,15 and 20 to go these are all blank on mine so unable to help (not sure what 15 would be? so close to the aceelerator bracket?)

Interesting about the number of firewall insulation clips - the new one I bought came with 5 - 4 of which were for the for corners, the last one I put in 29 thinking it would be least practical to do later with heater box in the way. 22 and 17 missed out..

I just checked some pics I took of a 66 coupe. One of the "2" holes I couldnt make out (looked like only one?). The other "2" hole directly above the headlight loom hole had a single black wire. Hole 3 was unused, and the heater earth had been put in the indentation above hole 26
