My AU ute has an air leak noise coming from charcoal canister purge solenoid.
Here is a make do picture:

The arrow denotes the way they vaccum flows.

Where is is broken, does anyone know what is supposed to be on there/where it should lead.
There arent any loose pipes under there either

Do a web search.......

Basically it runs from the intake manifold, to the purge solenoid, to the carbon canister, to the fuel tank.

The hoses are normally orange Smile

You'll need to find the other end of the hose and get yourself another solenoid.

Could be worse...on the EA-EB the carbon canistor is unprotected and when shit like this happens and goes un-noticed, the hose invariably winds up under the front wheel and tears the canister completley off ROFL

It has probably happened because the plastic guard that sits under the bumper is not there.
I bought an AU sedan so ill pull the wheel off and have a look how that pipework is routed so I know the general area where the hose comes from.
Its no biggie, just annooying.

actually, it is a biggy, because without it, the engine has the ability to suck air and run like crap.

Normally in this case, it show up as a 'hiccup' during normal driving, and a slightly higher than normal idle.

Only problem I have found is that it will have a random misfire at idle. as if it forgets to fire a couple every now and then.

It's been broken for ages, I've just been so busy I haven't had time to fix.
