The only problem with my B&M AOD that I have is it waits until about 850rpm to drop down gears on decel. That's especially bad when your idle is set @820 and is lumpy.

Luke,
That is going to be a sticky governor more than likely, or very close second the 1-2 shift valve being sticky.
See if you can raise the TV psi a little and help out. If that does not work, only some elbow grease will solve this issue.
