Can always come to the place I took mine next time... it's all pretty relaxed.
I will go back again when my box is fixed to tweak the last few kw out of it.

Yeah I might. Now that it's all sorted, changing some afr's and timing should be easy enough. I had a look on the haltech for any internally saved logs, as it saves some data on there continously. Saw a bit of the non meth pulls. Temps got to 90+ on the last couple of runs.

Got a couple warning lights in from billet automotive. The meth one will be connected to the trigger wire off the meth safe injection unit. That same trigger wire will also be connected to the ecu, and the ecu will adjust tables accordingly.

Ok. I have decided to not upgrade the headers on the gt40p heads and just drive it as is for now. Get used to the power and flog it at the track a bit.
Later this year when I have time, I will swap the heads and do headers then.

I would like some guidance from the smart people on here as I'm pretty simple. Once I get an idea, it will allow me to search for parts that come up for a good price over the next few months.

So I picked up some brand new Trickflow 170 Track Heat heads for what I think is a really good price, which is why I jumped on them. I'm going to use the Comp Cams Ultra Gold rockers that George had for sale. These will replace the gt40p heads I have. They are 61cc and would drop my compression to around 8.5.

First question. Should I mill them to get compression up, noting this is a forced induction application and will be using hyper pistons.

Now, the other questions I have are in regards to intake and exhaust.

Intake. I currently have the Hogan upper with a slightly ported explorer/gt40 lower. I could have the lower ported extensively so that it would flow around 260-270 average apparently. My other options is something like the Trickflow Box R intake. This flows around 300cfm straight out of the box. The sale of my current setup would cover a fair bit of the cost of the Box R. I am not interested in the other holley/trickflow efi intake manifolds as 1. I don't like the look and 2. They will interfere with my ls coils.

Exhaust. Obviously the HiPos will go. Do i go custom headers or off the shelf? Shorty or long tubes? If I get off the shelf headers, I still need to get it to and exhaust shop to match it up to my current exhaust. So there's a couple hundred there. Then you have the pain the ass problem of off the shelf headers not fitting right. Keep in mind I have a Unisteer rack and pinion, so some off the shelf headers might interfere. Then exhaust size. Do I go 1 3/4 to future proof myself, or will 1 5/8 cover me for 450-500rwhp.
I do like the idea of dropping the car off to someone and saying "make me headers" and then picking up the car complete.
Or do I get some JBA 1 5/8 shorties and call it a day?
I'm finding the exhaust side pretty confusing to be honest

I've got a set of Patriot middies (1 5/8) here that you're welcome to borrow for a test fit if the timing works out.

No worries Dwayne. Apart from the collectors they looks almost identical to the JBA 1650s design

The Patriots have a 3" collector vs JBA's 2.5" collector, but the JBA's have thicker flanges.

You're welcome to come measure my headers if you like.
Now I'm sure Boof is going to disagree with me, but I think 1 5/8" will be fine. Mine have been good for 300rwkw so far.
I would probably want to put the compression up to 9.5:1 or so.

As long as you don't plan to stroke it later with those heads, I would probably cut them some.

That looks perdy jeff. For someone who doesnt like bling.. thats prettt blingy. Looks great!!

I was looking at Dougs too. Are they middies or shorties?. I might need a similar design on my rhs to clear the rack.. so travel high across the heads then drop down and under car.

Leds look good huskey. Mine looks like a xmas tree as jeff puts it :D.

Edit sorry just saw the link.. shorties

It looks nothing like that now.
But in my defence, got the headers cheap, got the rocker covers cheap. That's all the bling.

1 3/4 minimum so i do disagree with hybrid. I would aim for 370rwhp as a decent hp NA 347 would put that figure. Travs 347 put out [close to] that figure with 11R 190 plus custom cam options discussed.

gbx should do a stepped design 1 3/4 for first 12inchs to 1 7/8 full length then 3.5 16inch collectors to twin 3 inch system.

I will someday think of something clever to say.
