New to all of this, need some advice on my latest project. Want to upgrade the suspension in my 67. Has anyone done this? I was looking at Rod & Custom - Rack and Pinion/Disc Brake conversion kit - is there another way of doing this rather than importing from the US. Any feedback would be most helpful

Hi Roger,
I'm sure you'll get plenty of advice here, but most often the consensus is that if your original steering is properly set up, there is very little benefit to switching over to a rack and even some drawbacks such as larger turning circle.

If you don't have disc brakes on the front, then that is definitely a good idea.

There are plenty of bolt on kits available.
This is the one I used on my car:
www.ebay.com.au/itm/FO...jC9cmjrbwg

Be aware that some of the bigger brakes (such as the one above) will not fit under the standard diameter wheels if you are still using them. You might need to go to 15"-16" wheels for them to fit.

The kelsey hayes based kits should be fine with the standard wheels, as this was the standard fitment to mustangs that had discs.

Falcon brakes will work fine on a 67, $80 at the wreckers plus rebuild

You are in Qld so keep up the conversation with shaunp as he knows how to do them right along with the best people. He has a couple of right hand drive conversions going at the moment.

Keep the suspension (other than spring and shock upgrades) and look at the mods in the tech section here.

ShaunP could you give me some pointers in converting to RHD. I've been looking in Brisbane at new fire wall, upper and lower cowl, dash panel and rear apron. Not sure on steering boxes or steering column (would like power if possible), can you suggest which to go with and how to mount. Any info is greatly appreciated.

Will try and load some photos to my profile, have stripped down ready for sand blasting.

Find ShaunP build thread (lime green coupe) he has quite a lot of good photos on his RHD conversion.

I will someday think of something clever to say.

Thanks Boofhead and Hybrid for the build thread link, had a quick look at it, but need more time to go back and digest everything, looks like a lot of good information.

Hi all, since my last post things have changed somewhat.
Can you guys recommend an Engineer in the Brisbane to Bundaberg area, that I can talk to about a Resto Mod.
Fitting a TCI front end, modular 290 BOSS, plus T56
Will start a project thread soon, everything has been held up due to home projects/weather
Thanks in advance for your input. Roger

Just a couple of pictures for now till I get used to all this tech stuff.
