The advice I got was 300-500 miles with break in oil and then dump it for normal oil, no need to do a break. But of course this may be different for an engine with solid lifters that needs the cam broken in. Shaun or someone else on here will know but if no one pipes up give Woody at fataz a call and see what he recommends.
Hybrid is right - first 20 min is the Cam break in (especially important with flat tappet cams) which is not under load (around 2000 rpm slightly varied - no idling). Then you drive the car. I like to drive around 400 ks then change to final oil. Having said that modern rings will very quickly embed hence you can start the engine on final oil which is what the factory tends to do with modern engines. I like to stay with the more traditional way (as I stated above) though I do like to load up the engine to make sure the rings get embedded early.
