Mate I bought a s$%tload of Rattle Trap from fleabay and did the whole car with that. Then I used some waterproof carpet underlay ( think there' some pic in my project page of this ). Lastly I've got some Dynamat up against the firewall for heat dissipation.

Theres always cheaper / alternative was to do things ( except condoms.... don't ever skimp on those...) and if you look for long enough you'll find some tight arse that's found the excact same product, just without the branding ( once again, condoms. big no no )

Does that mean I can use condoms under my carpet for deadening or are they only for heat shields????

well if you're using condoms as a heat shield, slow down, use some lube, and enjoy the ride.

If your feeling any heat, condoms havent done the job and i suggest you see a doctor.

sorry generator. I've gone away and tallied up how much I spent on my sound deadening / heat proofing.
came to just under $350.

Went from this

To this

and back to this

And finally

Its not too bulky, and the carpet still sits very evenly. Food for thought.

So to get this right you went from installing all that on your floor pan and then it magically converted itself into your roof liner. Bloody elves. And they actually went to all the trouble of re-installing you seats on the roof. Outta here!

On another note, don't want to step over the mark here, but who is in your back seat?
