I usually use Wurth SKS Stonegard on "driver" cars but what you see above is a special brew we made here.

We get mineral based sound deadener & then thin it to the consistency that Ford used. That is why you see the run in the middle of the 1/4 panel, that is intentional.

We used a mineral based product so that it would bleed through the colour when it was applied to the inside.

I will update with pics tomorrow (I hope) but the last 2 days have been spent on the exhaust. Nice repo, but still needed tweaking every piece to get it to factory measurements.

Example, pipes that come over the diff are too big to go into the transverse muffler, not by much, but enough to send me to the muffler shop to get the port expanded.

Also had to cut one side as the mount was wrong. But no big deal as it was on a weld anyway.

H pipe was over to one side & needed pushing so it centered on the drive shaft.

I will get the tail pipes copied but made a little longer as the rolled tips are supposed to be part of the pipe, not a later fitment.

I've got one of the repro ones, similar I think. Is it the one with the 2 hot dogs under the floor and transvers in the diff tunnel? Mine is only 2" though

Tips are stainless steel, same as the repo ones. Just that originally the tips were welded to the tail pipe, not just a short section of pipe & then clamped. So no real drama to reproduce.

Shaunp, yes it is hot dogs & a transverse muffler.

Going to be at the ranch for a few days. Bit of a fly through visit for the state concourse and a final schooling on Q. After that its off to the big smoke and then Melbourne to keep the better half happy.
