Thanks again mate, not a lot of progress but......
This is the size of the cutaway required so I was a bit hesitant.

but, what the hell.

Setting the spacing.

A cleanup and tack to hold the flap steady.

Template

Hardcopy cut from template.

Filler piece tacked in place.

Then the storm came and life got in the way so I had to go inside.

Getting there but please excuse the crap welding, no point in cleaning up just yet.

Overall happy with the pedal position. Now to round up the 1 inch DD and set the column position. Also need to find an upper mount to suit the collapsible column. Might be next Saturday's chore, trawl the wrecking yards.

I am happy with that so you must be ....... Laughing

My welding was not all that great today, I was oxy welding some corner plates in a door & when I looked at the weld, I had veered off some 15mm ....... HELP! SOS!

Back to get the eyes checked ........ Sad

Only 15 mm, your eyes are fine. I actually set fire to some rags and that was just with the mig.

Waiting for some 1"DD shaft to finish the steering/pedal box mock up so I had a play with the shifter.
After mucking around with mods to the original shifter and not being happy with the outcome I found this little adapter at the local hot rod parts place.

Needed to make little adapter,

Thread the end for the shifter handle.

The overall ugly little thing

and in place

I think I will still have to modify the seat though, the throw on that box is bad enough normally but now I have extended the shifter it is quite large. Anyway time will tell.

A Pro 5.0 shifter would help and so much nicer shifting

I have the factory T5Z shifter which is suppose to be shorter than the standard T5 shifter in a box here somewhere. Call out if interested.

Should fit it is only marginally larger than stock but much nicer shift feel about 200 USD from memory

The Pro5.0 is about 1/4 inch taller than stock and the ring is larger but generally not an issue.

About time I got off my butt, the DD shaft arrived sometime ago and worked out well.

Also found an after market collapsible mount, rather expensive but functional.

All in place.

Sadly while his was happening I had to put down my lovely shed mate due to bone cancer, poor girl did not even make it to 7. RIP

Meet the new shed buddy
