looks like you have a nice project ahead of you, so what are your intentions, keeping it original or a bit of custom work? Do you want it Left or right hook?
cheers Neil.

Not sure on original color. It certainly is "vintage" burgundy at the moment though. Only details it still has attached is the VIN (5F08A652390). There is no door tag or under hood tag attached.
So I know it is a 65 manufactured at dearborn, convertible and an A code. Not sure if there is any way of getting anymore info about it as I thought Marti reports only existed for 67 onwards???

Will be keeping it left hook, just as a cruiser. The red 65 in the pic below is the look I am going for. Stole this photo off the MOCA forum a year back so sorry to the member who originally took it.

Should come up a treat Tim.

Im pretty sure its original but you never know

When your stripping it back you may find only that colour and then primer (so to speak)

Love the pic above if thats your goal.

Did you find the disc brake conversion kit?

Was in a brown square box

Rotars are on there way

matt

Hey mate, no conversion kit in sight Shrug
Rear number plate was still attached to car but can't find front one anywhere.
All other parts were in the car though.

I still owe some money to AQIS as they had to re inspect the car after it was steam cleaned, could they or customs be holding on to the parts as ransom????

I will call freightnet today to settle the rest of the bill and ask them about it, but not sure what else I can do to chase them up. 😢

ahhh my friends at AQIS what a pleasure it was handing over money to them. I found a bunch of carpet and crap laying on the floor at the holding yard. worth trying to chase it up good luck!

I'd be surprised if they held anything for ransom.

Wouldn't be surprised if some bastard got their hands on it. Did you declare it all?

Yeah mate, declared everything. Sent them an itemised list of all parts and prices.

I reckon some A** hole took it though as it was the only part I didn't have the original invoice for. Fairly certain receipt was in the box with the parts.

Am I pushing s#@t up hill to try and not pay the rest of the AQIS bill until these parts turn up or do I just pay it an cut my losses.

OK. Spent a couple of hours Sunday arvo pulling out center console seats carpet, and dash pad.

Plenty of rust in the floor pans but that was expected

Then last night removed front windscreen trim and the windshield. Happy to see the frame around the windshield is rust free except for a tiny amount of surface rust in drivers side corner.

OH, and took off the number plate. Not sure where to display it at the moment???

I'm sure there will be some not so nice surprises under it all, but at the end of the day its only metal.

All good mate. Thought we must have run out of time to get it. No harm done, haven't lost my nut at anyone over the phone yet, and I will stop calling customs guys A**holes. (Even though they charge like a wounded bull)

Lets pull the trigger on a brake conversion kit if we can. Just let me know the best way to go about it.

How long till the girls back from paint and you're into the master bolt kit ??
