I did my current one black too. It makes them 10% stronger Mr. Green

I have done a timelapse of my new AOD build so far. It's a bit like watching paint dry, but in case anyone is interested, here it is:

Hey Hybrid, we should sell those buckets as they also make great diff centre stands!

Nice work.
Cheers

Haha, that’s normal speed for you too. Like the song choice Eddie Murphy.

Who is this bloke? He's actually doing work instead of standing around gas bagging Very Happy

Actually there was a whooooole lot of gas baggin, but the video shortens it a lot.
We also spent a looooong time trying to get the damn slip rings on the pump which the timelapse doesn't really show.

Took a trip to bunnings to make a super special tool.
Bought some 150mm PVC pipe.

So the next step would have been to measure the clearance from the pump mating surface to the bearing surface you can see in the last pic.
However I'm now having one of those "might as well just do it while it's apart" moments. As long as I can get one to suit my converter that I've only recently bought, I think I'm going to go with a 1-piece input shaft instead of the two - even though my current inner shaft is 300M material. My current converter is already non lock-up, so going to single shaft will make no difference except that it will be a lot stronger.

Will your old 300m inner shaft fit lockup converters?

I haven't ordered mine yet if you end up getting the 1-piece.

Yes, my current setup is stock configuration, just 300M inner shaft (there is no upgrade for just the outer shaft).

No worries Like
Pretty sure I have convinced myself to do it. Just need to convince myself to spend the money now Mr. Green

But also waiting on confirmation from a couple of manufacturers that they will work with the stock spline configuration.

Dan @ Silverfox tells me they all use C6 splines, so may be a no go. Just waiting on confirmation from Hughes, but it's not looking good.
