depends on how far you want to go.... Have seen a mustang with an AU falcon dash and running gear.

If you want to revive the competition to be the first person banned from Mustangtech, i can post pictures of a Convertible that is running a VR Commodore V6 & auto plus the dash and steering column. Fap Fap

I was thinking more of Marshall's 65-6 convertible or the yellow mustang coupe that made an appearance on ebay 12-18 months ago.

Both had the full AU falcon dash working in the mustang.

Another con with the Falcon diff, they go through bearings in the center like they are going out of style. My diff & gearbox guy says some only last 40k under loads.

Had Mrsozbilt's AU XR6 diff of done ( 2012 ) & retail cost was almost AU$900 to rebuild then.

wot about a nice control blade IRS then hmm ?

Shortening the diff housing isnt a problem, but unless an AU diff is shorter than a EB-EF there isnt enough spline on the axles to shorten to 66 axle length, you will have to buy new axles or find some old ones.
Or possibly get the AU axles cut and resplined, so would be worth asking if that is included in the $800 quote you got.

After measuring Mrsozbilt's AU today, Guy would only have to shorten the housing by 1" either side if using the wheels the ute came with.

That roll bar would be nice, however Mrsozbilt will probably not like me cutting the roof off behind the front doors, so I guess I will pass on that .... Laughing

The seats will also work in the Mustang as they fold forward. Will not be much of the ute left when you pull off all the needed pieces ...... Wink2

I was thinking of using the roll bar on the mustang....
I was going to bolt it to the boot lid, like a custom spoiler.. Fap
Or maybe use it inside as a roll cage.......man I'm full of ideas
.

Interesting... May work then, did you measure to the outer axle hub where the wheels sit against or just the housing? The disc brake set up on a EB pushes it out almost another 1/2" each side compared to the original mustang drum.
