Might even catch the train for shits & giggles:-) Get off at Hojie (or whatever it is called) & say hello to the worlds hottest hotel manager Fap

Cindy is at Shilong & I am all for that visit. Actually we were all promised dinner from what I remember, but I would imagine we would have to stay in that hotel to "collect" that invitation ..... Laughing

Houjie is where the van transfer is (to & from HKG) & also where we got first Fair credentials .....

Looks like the only night flight from Perth to Hong Kong leaves Perth at 2355 hours & arrives at 0750 hours (7 hour 55 minute flight, not a long flight at all). So I would have to put the first guys (from SYD) in the van to DG & then wait for the next group.

No big deal, so the second group would arrive at the hotel in DG a few hours after the first group. At least the first group have done it before so no real issues there. Only difference from the first trip is the van ride to the "Silvercity" Hotel (across the road from the Silverland, where the bar was that had the bike outside) is just on 2 hours in total with a change in van at Shenzhen.

Oh, just remembered, you cannot catch the train from HK to Shilong as Shilong has no border check point. So you would have to catch the Airport Express to Central, then the MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui, then walk the underground to East Tsim Sha Tsui, then KCR to Lo Wu for the border crossing & then High Speed trin from Shenzhen to Shilong. Probably looking at close to 4 hours total journey.

Shilong, thats what I meant Embarrassed It didnt seem like 4 hours on the train, but it would be easily I suppose when you break it down. That would be without dramas at the border. Must have had other things on my mind when we did it last time. Too preoccupied to clock watch.

That was from HKG to Shilong inc waiting times.

Airport Express is 30 mins to Central, another 10 minute walk to the MTR & another 10 mins to Tsim Sha Tsui, then another 15 mins to the KCR at East Tsim Sha Tsui & then 40 minutes to the border (Lo Wu). Cross the border (on a good day) 60 minutes, then walk to Shenzhen train station & wait for next train, 30 - 50 mins, then 40 mins to Shilong.

You could catch the "Through Train" from Hung Hom (so still the Airport Express to Central, then to Tsim Sha Tsui & East Tsim Sha Tsui, then one stop to Hung Hom), but you then get off at ChangPing & then onto the train to Shilong, so probably longer.

All on a good day ......

Now you see why I like the Limo Service to DG .... Laughing

Just to give you all a comparison to what tours cost in China, this is a 5 day SEMA tour & does not include airfare to China from the US & return....

Steve & I will be doing a quick trip to Dongguan leaving SYD the 1st August on the night flight & returning the morning of the 5th.

I will be arranging rooms & locking in costs for the October trip. So anyone else thinking of coming on the October trip, let me know. At present there are 5 + myself.

Got the email thanks Mike. I will be waiting for you as the others will fill one van going up.

Steve & I are here now, nice & warm (read bloody hot) & I have 2 changes of clothes in the laundry bag already & it is only just after 6pm ..... Shocked

Lot of people lying on footpaths getting out of the heat (afternoon siesta) but many may have been kicked to the curb .... Poke

Pollution does not seem to be as bad either, must have abandoned "burn off Thursday" as there are a few uglies wandering around .... :rotfl:

Busy today & will be visiting factories over the next couple of days before returning to Sydney. Early night tonight as we flew through a monsoon early this morning, all crew was seated for the duration of the flight (last 3 hours). But turned out not to be too bad, just enough to keep you awake. We landed early (4.45 am) & have been on the go all day.

Steve & I am heading home after a quick trip. Hotel is organized, van travel to & from the Fair all done along with a translator for when we are out in the evenings. We will not need a translator during the day as most vendors speak English.

We spent Friday & Saturday night at Hollywood Baby Too. That place has got to be seen to be believed. Here is a quick snap shot of Joy (band lead singer) & a shy young thing from the crowd dancing on the pole...... Shocked
