i cannot for the life of me find out where to put these window stops. i think i know where, but I'm not sure which is which, lower and upper. anyone a good drawer hhahahaha. im guessing placement of the stops is what actually makes the side window and the quarter window line up properly parallel with the seal in-between

any help would be great

65/6 Mustang, if you look at the door near where the regulator mechanism is (where the handle would be) there is 4 slotted holes in the door frame.

You can work out what goes where by winding the window down & trying one in there.

One stop goes against the regulator arm in the down position & the other stops the same arm in the up position.

To adjust the upper one, wind the window up until it fits the seal when closed & then bolt the stop in there so it is against the arm.

Ozbilt you legend.

I still can't get the two windows to line up perfect but I have the stops in good. Its the damn end of the window that angles too far when I get the Window to the top, it's like I have to get my hands and even it up by pressing down on the end next to the quarter window so it sits in the seal

Sounds like the window stops at the rear of the door are out, maybe the rear quarter glass is out as well. Pics will tell me a lot.

Built up my last 65 door a couple of weeks back, so i cannot remember all of it ..... Wink2

Ozbilt, you were right, It was the rear stop that needed adjustment. The lining is good now, but if you can see in the pictures the gap that is left from the top? Is that ok. I haven't put the moulding or the rubber yet so I'm assuming that will fill the gap.

If so then I'm a very happy man, because this means I can go ahead and finish the interior off

It is your rear quarter glass that wants "rocking" forward. That window has a lot of adjustment. The whole frame that has the runners & also the separate runner are all adjustable.

If you loosen all the mounting bolts you will find you can move that glass a fair bit. Basically trial & error for someone that has not done it before.

I have a stack of pictures of when I did muzz67 new glass & polished stainless. We did a photographic essay on the reassembly process, so now I just have to write the text. That was probably 2 years ago. Must get to that while on the plane next trip ...... Embarrassed
