hi all, i am currently in the process of building a 68 fastback from a coupe. the back half of the car has been replaced with dynacorn fastback panels and has a new floorpan and the rhd conversion bits(all performed by sixties rust). in the process of deciding what the car will ultimately look like but this has already changed many times. will be getting the car back as a complete body then start trial fitting everything

nah got new drip rails just cant really seem them in the last few pics cause of the primer

going with a 347 stroked windsor with aluminium heads with roughly 400hp and gonna stick with the c4 (rebuilt) and a performance torque converter. Thinking of going with the shelby side scoops but not really sure on the colour scheme yet.

its a great build, but i am curious as to why you went with 67 rear quarters over the 68 style?

there are fewer 68's around and i would have thought it would stand out more with 68 styling all round. especially so it would keep true to the cars model year.

Just my opinion as another 68 coupe owner

the dynacorn panels come as 67/68 panels they do not have a 68 panel without the holes. Was originally going to get it modified to look like the original 68 rear quarters but presently thinking of putting the shelby side scoops on, but actually making them functional(panel beater seems very keen to do it)

that was my next question!

scoops will cover that bit up. will you be putting the 68.5 side marker on the rear quarter also? thats the other bit missing. it looks to have been missing from the donor car too.

do dynacorn do 68 front fenders with the blinker cut out? or are they all just 67 repro parts? or are you using the originals?

not too sure if im going to put the side markers on the rear still have a while to sort that out. Using the original front fenders so dont know about the dynacorn ones, it seems like dynacorn base their panels on the 67 cause they fit the 68 anyway. The original side marker was on the left side but not the right as it had some accident damage on the right side and a large majority of the rear quarter was bog. heres a pic of the original side marker compared to the later 68 side marker (fathers car)

both cars same year same factory

cool, thought it must have been the later one as it looked flush, but bog would do that!

its a great job that they are doing, if its 67 or 68 panels, doesn't matter. its looking sweet!
