Some of the members here will know that my best mate and i have been restoring / rebuilding a '66 vert over the last 2 years...
I was covering the build on the other site...but here is the continuing story here
Essentially, 2 years ago - we purchased a rolling shell...66 A Code convertible..
Since then, we've literally modified or replaced every piece of metal on her
New floors (both sides)
New trunk pans (both sides)
2 New x rear quarters
2 x New fenders
New nose (headlight buckets / front apron)
RHD conversion (Mustang West)
New disc brakes
New 289 30" bored V8 + rebuilt C4
New pony interior
New canvass roof
...most other parts (95%) are all new aswell....
Actually the only original piece retained was the VIN
In other words we've rebuilt a 66 with entirely new parts.... this is not cheap...but we want her to live on for another 44 years!
She goes into paint tonight for her outter areas - interior & underside will be during the week.....but here are a few pics taken today.
We're hoping to debut her at the Mustang Round Up in March
Foresight... its very exciting..but once painted thats only half of it
as least she looks like a car nowadays.....
Probably a little over capitalised...but again we want it to last...no point doing a half a$$ed job covering up evils with bog etc... we could have kept some stuff as is like trunk pans, wheel wells, fenders, quarters.... but too many sins hid beneath....
