They are soft springs so luck its only small cam, they are pretty much a flat tappet spring so its not going to rev real high. I run 150 on the seat, 450 open for most HR cams and 240 on the seat 650-700 open for solid roller

So at least I can rule out high spring pressures.

That would be good to know Pinto-Pete. I think I have a Moroso high volume but I'm waiting to hear back from the engine builder.

His recommendation was for a quality standard volume pump(Mellings) with a 1mm spacer behind the spring to increase pressure a bit..

The standard Volume Mellings High performance pump, you can adjust the pressure with an allen key.

That's good to know about the oil pump.

I just want to post a big thanks to Nuts (Daryl) for having my car over at his house for over a week. Despite not wanting to crawl under it, he did and found on very close inspection that the Bosch starter motor was still sitting crooked by about 2 mm on one side, hence the bad starting.A little grinding on the top corner of the throw-out solenoid and she starts like a charm!

I finally got to drive her. Still not getting full power, but at least I can drive it. Now to re-route the fuel lines on the weekend so the exhaust guy can fix up the crappy new 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust that sits 65 mm off the ground at the front (with a downward pointing wide-band O2???).

The overdrive is amazing after the C6 with a 3.5. Now it drops from 3000 to 2100 rpm at 110 kmh. One problem, I also noticed when taking it home that it won't kickback at all, has the Lokar cable on the AOD box and Dan/silverfox's valvebody. Any ideas? I have to manually pull back the gears.

Sounds like cable adjustment to me. Have you checked the TV pressures?
Also, fix that O2 sensor position or it will not last very long.
It needs to be between 10 o'clock and 2 o'clock, but ideally as close to upright as possible.

Are you talking about kickback or downshift on slow down?

My B&M hangs on to 3rd until about 950rpm. So annoying with my cam.

No worries Hybrid, yes I sent the car down with the O2 sensor in the old exhaust at 2 o'clock position, he gave it back to me with it at 5 o'clock position, hung lower than the new exhaust which sat 65 mm off the ground at the front so the first speed bump would have taken it out. I replaced it with a bolt I had while it was at Nuts. Car goes back Monday for exhaust to be re-done after I re-route the fuel lines on the weekend as he said he couldn't get it any higher because of the line?

Lukep6470, talking about kick-down when I hit the throttle after slowing down, stays in 3rd unless I manually shift. Nuts agrees I should tighten the TV cable a bit. Hybrid, I haven't checked the TV pressure as Dan says his kit makes TV adjustment a thing of the past, just uses the cable for kick down. Hope this is correct? I'l play with the cable adjustment and see what it does; don't want to drive it too much as I also need thee exhaust guy to throw some more mufflers under it as it has a loud throaty note with the new motor even with triple flow mufflers. It also has a 2500 rpm stall which is interesting, there's no engine braking when you back off unless you pull back to 1st at 60k.

I've only driven it for some short trips, haven't taken notice if it changes down at low rpm yet. The starter issue we (Nuts) just fixed has been going on for 6 weeks and stopped me driving it! Once the exhaust is fixed it's time for engineering and ACT rego (hardest one to pass for modified vehicles).

You should still set it properly regardless. I have an email somewhere where he told me that.

This shouldn't be a problem as I bought the upgraded SPT-MAC (constant pressure) body/kit. He says it is independent of TV cable adjustment on his webpage and I confirmed that in an email to him. Cost me $1k with the billet overdrive servo as well.

Silverfox AOD

'Eliminating TV pressure modulation means no more worrisome TV pressure settings and, more importantly, the pressure will always be there when you need it most. Line pressure rise will be more consistent and quick to react in β€œoff the line WOT situations”. Built off of the SPT-R2 base, with overdrive lockout, the SPT-MAC is an effective street / strip valve body designed strictly for performance applications over 400hp. Utilising the TV system as a β€œkick down” style application allows this valve body to maintain its auto functions. If disconnected, the valve body will perform much like a manual valve body, and will not downshift with increased throttle – perfect for that day at the track or dyno! The SPT-MAC is only available in STAGE 3 or higher applications, and can support up to 800hp. Installation is simple and comes with the same easy to read instructions and gaskets, and includes the wire harness. A switch kit is not included.'

Nice to have a switch to turn overdrive on and off.

I know what the MAC is - I've converted mine to the same thing using parts that Dan sent.
He still told me to check the TV pressure at idle (to make sure there is SOME) when I was having issues with downshifts.
Setting it properly will ensure the cable has the correct tension anyway.

Check it or don't... it's not my car Eat Popcorn

Sorry Hybrid, I was not trying to make an issue of it, just going on what Dan told me. I'll check it to be safe. Hopefully Nuts has a pressure gauge otherwise I'll adapt one I have. I don't want to burn it out. I've only driven it 6 times in the last 6 weeks because of the ongoing starter issue that now looks like being solved, about 40 km of fairly gentle driving in total. The longest drive it's done was from Nuts house to home.

You won't burn it with the MAC. Clutches always have full pressure, but TV can still affect shifts.
