So I headed to Sydney Dragway with Hybrid for my first time at the track. Was lots of fun and underestimated how 'particular' you have to be when launching a manual on street tires.
Had 3 runs, with the best being a 13.5 @ 110 with a crappy 2.4 60ft. All my launches were crap, but I was trying to find the sweet spot. With only 3 runs it was a bit hard to do. But really, next time I go I might get some ET Street tires or something, make it a bit more worthwhile.
Another thing that was happening was once I hit 5000rpm my car was losing a bit of go. I thought my clutch was slipping(which it may be a little), as it was making a lot more boost than I was expecting. I was shifting at 5700-5800, and it was making 16psi.
Anyway I checked my laptop today and I don't even have a table setup for timing or afr past 14.5psi lol. And the previous tune has the timing drop to 10 at 5500rpm at 14.5psi and above, as at the time I was only making a max of 10psi at 6000. So I was loosing over 10dg of timing in my top end. Afr was also at 10.5 at 14.5psi. Oh well, a few things to change and I'll be back.

I tell you what though, it does make you want an auto rotfl

A lot of fun though, I'll be back until I break something. At 16psi, that will be sooner rather than later.

Actually thinking about it, I"m making about 12 psi at 5200, and 16psi at 5800. Sort of doesn't sound right. Would over retarded ignition result in more engine constriction? Seems like I am having an airflow restriction up top.

No, timing shouldn't affect airflow really.
It could be that the supercharger is moving into a more efficient area - I don't think it's too out of the ordinary.

Not sure how it would , the valve events should determine this,

Yeah sounds right.

I have read that putting a meth nozzle pre supercharger increases the efficiency of it, and you can see 1-2psi increase depending on impeller speed.

Either way, I might chuck it on a dyno and have a play soon

Yes, you're increasing the air density when you (hopefully) atomise in front of the impeller, so you will see higher boost for the same impeller speed.
Edit: BTW, what size is your pulley? I have my old 3.7" if it's bigger and you want to drop the boost a bit.
I thought you were using some method to regulate the boost?

it's a 3.25. I already have a larger one that I was using before. I was going to use a boost regulator but only if I went intercooled, which I didn't for the moment.

Oh, I also need a line lock to do a good burnout with the manual. They way my steering wheel is I can't seem to get my left foot across to the small brake pedal, or I need more practice.
Looks like I have created a bit of a list since wednesday night eeeekk.....

I'm always in the enjoyment phase. Infact I think I am more in the enjoyment when phase when I'm building it, not driving it. Less to go wrong that way Thumbs Up

I think I'm going to need to put the previous pulley back on. I just went out and did a couple of pulls, hitting 17psi around 6000rpm. Studs or not I doubt my felpro gaskets are gonna take that for long, let alone the rest of the block.
Wheels are pretty much spinning until I hit 3rd gear.

I am collecting some parts for my next upgrade when the T56 goes in. I'll be putting a 9" diff at the same, and most likely a 4 link McDonalds Bros rear too. They all sort of go hand in hand so I want to do them all together.

I found a cheap 9" small bearing housing which means my disc brakes will fit right on. Now just to find a truetrac, gears and 31 spline axles.

Dang that's a lot of boost.
Is yours a 6-rib setup?

I think I will try a different belt.
