Here's a thread back from the dead!

So I've been pretty quiet of late - works been getting in the way of life.

But I have managed to get a heap of work done on the car!

So as of yesterday, after 3 1/2 long years of her getting worked on, its registered again!!!

Took her out for a shake down run this morning and all was well, keep at a constant 180c, MSD atomic is behaving itself, all the suspension mods are really proving their worth and the

new wheel tyre combo is really providing that nice stable road feel.

However, few things that I'm not wrapped with ( and maybe I'm a bit naΓ―ve) but the light steering feel of the borgeson box / power steer setup ain't great. Anything between 1-40kmph is fine: firm , responsive and good feedback. But anything over 50kmph and its so light, the smallest adjustment of steering and she's off!

Further I think i'll need to get the car into a trans shop to get the C4 looked at, I'm not sure when it was last serviced, so its probably well past due.

On the upside I'm working out at Penrith from Monday to Fridays now and I'm sure theres no shortage of good shops out that way!!

So I guess from here its really going to about getting some serious miles on the car. There is a list of things I want to get done

Power Windows - pulling into bases and having to show your ID everytime makes winding down the passenger window tedious....

Transmission - hopefully after getting the C4 serviced, and if all is well, I'd like to get a gear vendors unit. Looked inot mny different options with transmissions, and as I'll be potentially be driving upto 100km each day (if I can get away from work) I'd like to be able to keep the rpm down on the M4

Wipers - intermittent wiper switch, cause sometimes the rain isn't, as per factory wiper switch, a.Slow or b.Deluge

and a few little one percent items that need tidying up.

Nice one Ronin, looks nice with the matt black accents.

oh and I got bored of the Gold/black wrap, so decided to try out the Black/Matt black stripe combo. its not perfect, but I've figured out my colour choice if I ever get rich enough to afford a spray job

I am about to pull the trigger on the gear vendors. Maybe we can see if we can get a decent discount if we buy two. They are not cheap so any discount will be good. How serious are you Ronin as I will end up ordering one in the next week.

Yeah I reckon the pumps borgeson supply overboost it. I have a foxbody pump and it feels pretty good.
You can fit a restrictor(google borgeson pressure reducing), or you can fit something like a heidts ps101 to manual adjust pressure.

Try putting some more caster into the wheel alignment if you can, will help with keeping straight at speed and will give a better feel, with power steering, as long as you have room in the wheel well and adjustable strut rods its an easy fix.

You can get 8 degrees on them no prob, just like a new rear wheel drive car has. Article of mine in the tech section on how to shim the top arm to get it.

Mrsozbilt's Mach is 8 degrees of castor. I am doing a 69 and 68 at the moment that will be set to those specs.

Thanks for the info guys, I'll see if i can find a good alignment shop out here in Penriff. Any suggestions? Think I;ve got a lead on a trans shop to have a look at the C4 for a service, so hopefully get that in today.
