I can't claim credit for the core plugs ( or short) as it was assembled by one of Mike's contacts hence why I am painting it now rather than pre-assembly.

It looks well assembled but to satisfy myself that everything is correct I will be double checking torques, end floats, cam timing etc etc.

Nassi - Good point. I spent considerable time cleaning and detailing odds and ends ( pulleys, water pump, sump etc) which I wasn't aware was within the original scope. Anyway, all done I just hope the rest of the car is detailed as nicely as my engine.... over to you Mike!

All short block bolts checked for torque (given unknown builder) and witness marked. Rods have upgraded non-standard bolts which is good.



Crank and cam endfloats double checked



Rod clearance double checked



TDC accurately located using piston stop and degree wheel fitted up ready for double checking cam install



Piston to valve clearance checked





Supplied rocker geometry and clearance double checked





Valve stem contact with stock pushrod length



Dummy up to get Mike moving...


Second hand manifold will need some further detailing to bring it up to standard

Vapour blasting or soda blasting should bring that manifold up nicely.

It is not finished yet I will mirror polish up the lettering once the paint has set up a bit more.

Would look good with a polished timing cover and edelbrock enduroshine water pump.

I agree was really just stirring Mike up. That is why my engine is painted block and as cast aluminium timing cover, water pump and manifold.

Plus that enduro shine stuff is pretty expensive from memory and I don't even know if you can get an off the shelf polished timing cover.
