How else do you lift heavy things if you don't have a fork lift. Comes in very handy I can tell you. Its just a pain in the arse to fill the gas bottle up. Laughing

No this car will have a seem, as it should, Restomod or not I don't like doing away with factory joins, cause when I see that, I always think "is it just bogged". I cut the ends off the catwalk and shortened it, tacked the ends on, test fitted the 1/4s couple of times then fully welded the ends on after pushing them against the 1/4. Then welded the 1/4 on from in the boot. Put a dot of mig at each end so it looks right, originally it would have been bronze on each end.

Thanks. I will just leave it as is for the time being and make a final decision just before paint prep.

You just have to fix their cars for free, and the horses over the back fence don't care, semi rural.

Travelled up to see the progress this weekend - the boys have put in some solid hours and the results are great.
Almost ready to go on the rotisserie - mocking up the engine/trans first and some roof rail repairs to go.
Have most of the engine parts now, just have to buy a dizzy - dropped the old starter motor at Dono's on the way back for a recondition and ordered the alternator.
The eagle eye'd amongst you will see that there is still seam welding and sealing to go plus a couple of extra holes will be drilled to clean the blast material out of the rails.
Motor bits first:

Very nice work. Should be a fun ride.

I will someday think of something clever to say.

I must admit I am always amuse by pictures of Shaun (in his garage) with his thongs on with heavy heads and other parts just hanging on by dowels. I should not laugh but I do Poke It is just so old school - and I love old school.
