Hi Ray, you can try Athol Mullen, he's in Cardiff, Newcastle. Athol Mullen Facebook. If you do go and see him, just be aware he is a bit out there in his dress but a great guy I hear. 0414 685 537 24 Newcastle St, Cardiff NSW 2285Rayatswan wrote:Thanks Hybrid,
I am going to give another local a go but If that doesn't work I will try them, the rules are so complex and it comes down to interpretation by the certifier. He also said it hasn't been tested, funny thing is I thought that was his job.
He engineered a full-on car build that some friends of mine in our club built in Canberra called Tailspin. They fitted Skyline roof to and FB, converted it to 2 door and made the car look reversed. Here's the link, it's engineered and registered in NSW - Perry FB Tailspin in Street Machine
The issue you probably have with the suspension you bought is engineers like it to come with it's own engineering paperwork which most do. maybe ring the company you bought it off and see if it has engineering paperwork?

Re: Rusty 66 Coupe
Hey Edz66vert, Athol is a hard man to contact, I have tried him before with no luck getting hold of him.
I know what you mean when it comes to the paperwork but surely someone must be able to certify it without otherwise custom suspension would never get built.
Still waiting to hear back from the new certify-er, I think he is on holidays.
That car looks amazing, not my cup of tea but fantastic workmanship.
Thanks for the tips, cheers

Re: Rusty 66 Coupe
In SA we have a listing of about a dozen engineers approved by our rego dept to certify brake/suspension etc mods. Sot at Speed Garage is the go to guy down here.
Does NSW have a similar list?

Hi Dwayne, yes it does.
Re: Rusty 66 Coupe
Front suspension going onto a XW Falcon, and I wonder why I cant get my suspension passed, silly me.
Re: Rusty 66 Coupe
Yes, it's amazing what some people can get passed and others can't. Just need the right engineer.Rayatswan wrote:Front suspension going onto a XW Falcon, and I wonder why I cant get my suspension passed, silly me.

Re: Rusty 66 Coupe
Finally getting back to the Mustang after a long layoff, 13 weeks off work with shoulder surgery and I have also found an Engineer who is good to work with, he is happy with my suspension choices, any issues can be overcome and he has a fantastic positive attitude.
Just a little work today to get back into the swing of things. More to come as my shoulder gets stronger.
