The rear axle and transmission are coming along. Needs all new gears (big surprise) and I had to go with my back up set of axle tubes.

The radiator shell came out fantastic from the light sand blasting to get all the flaking nickle off and it doesn't have any dents, warps, pitting, etc. The radiator is getting replaced - the radiator and shell came off an old 1929 Baldwin combine along with the extra engine I have. Dad said they often had a nickle plated model A radiator shell, which surprised me but that is what must have saved it from getting bent up.
Those combines were plentiful back home and you used to still see them in pastures until the high steel scrap prices back in the 2000's.

I will probably paint the shell and put it on, dad thinks it is in such good shape, he suggested I should maybe have it nickle plated again.

Anyway it was a nice surprise and I will take any luck when it comes.

Hey,

I picked up the running gear 2 weeks ago, just getting around to posting photos. Looks good so far and ran right up on the trailer.

I should have time later this spring to start fitting sheet metal and see how things are going to go. I have never done the whole body pre-done with new sheet metal.

Couple more photos of the pickup stored in a machine shed at the farm in 1988.
