$31 Collision Safety Shut Off Switch for Electric Fuel Pumps
These are available on evilbay for $31 posted and cut the power to your fuel pump in an accident, reducing the chance of a fire.
They are easy to wire in, just cut the fuel pump wire and wire it in (ign is power in, pump is power out to pump).
It also has a 3rd terminal (marked W/L) that can be wired to automatically activate the vehicles hazard warning lights.

So what activates the cut off knob and where do you fit it?
Re: $31 Collision Safety Shut Off Switch for Electric Fuel P
Normally have a ball inside that dislodges in an accident. That ball completes a circuit and pressing (or lifting the knob in the one above) reactivates the circuit.unilec5544 wrote:So what activates the cut off knob and where do you fit it?
They are fitted between the fuel pump and power source.
They are fitted to all cars that are produced with fuel injection (read since the demise of carbys)

Thanks, I was just interested to know where you would fit one, so the ball is thrown forward by inertia, so what happens if you are hit from the front side, should you have more than one switch?ozbilt wrote:Normally have a ball inside that dislodges in an accident.
