recycled is OK if the grounds flat .
I don't recommend for a slope unless you can get it rolled to keep it packed in place.

we are nice and flat. 2m fall over 120m.

They also mention getting a bitumen top coat sprayed and rolled for a total cost of about half the price of concrete, so its very appealing price wise.
Then after i can do a concrete edging at my leisure.

Plain old roadbase which hardened up nicely.
Not cheap tho - about $2900 for a truck and dog load - used 2 lots on the driveway and front of house.

Wow,. id better stop whinging. They want $370 a tipper load delivered, which is 12.5 ton. and they said that the driver will tip it fairly evenly so theres only a couple of hours of bobcat work levelling and compacting. Stage 1 will be about 1k.

I’ve been chipping away at the boss for over a year now about selling his bird to me, I got a break when the taxman knocked on his door recently, don’t feel bad he has close to 20 cars that I’m aware of...
It’s a survivor 64 390 from a private collection in California, just clicked over 84,000 miles this morning bringing it home.
Only had a wash to get the dust off so I’m keen to give it an overall polish.
Has a couple of minor issues to look at but the cruise o matic trans has just been rebuilt as has the power steering and AC compressor, shocks and new tyres.
Can’t believe power everything, has features that some new cars today don’t have.
Just floats on the highway....
Cheers

Nice, looks in excellent nick. You'll need to update your signature though. lol.

If you're after a new '64 Thunderbird Factory Shop Manual, ones just come up for sale on the MOCA forum.

I will have to look into the signature - fortunately the manual came with the car.
With all that chrome, I’ll be buying shares in Autosol and elbow grease....

They hover up the road at 60 mph.
Not so great on the corners but electric everything, 390 is quiet - total opposite to the blaring effie...

Quick update on Birdbrain:
Upgraded brake system with new booster, dual '67 stang master from single, hoppers stoppers front disk brake setup from drums, 17x7 wheels/tyres.
K-Mac sway bars front & rear
New fuel tank
Recored radiator, Receiver dryer & AC compressor, PS pump, Holley 650 Vac choke.
Renewed most of the internal wiring myself - only old vehicle I have that I haven't used a new wiring loom in, not sure that's a wise choice.
Closed door respray and some new chrome bits.

Getting there - I've recently found a factory trained old school Ford mechanic whose workshop is 20 mins down the road, a godsend for the things I can't or don't really want to do like fixing the exhaust manifold leak

Apart from that - we live on country highways and it's a dream cruising car...

Cheers
