your Novi2000 should be more than capable of 20+ psi on your engine.
I will someday think of something clever to say.

Nice run - boost 7.8psi, 100% tps, 5800 rpm - excellent

Shifted a bit early especially 2 to 3 though did get a small rpm bounce after shifting to 3 which was interesting.

Had only 1/2 sec of traction loss then backed off a little to much but not bad all the same.

Temp drop minor but everything so linear good stuff
Run 1 was in drive - yeah the AOD switches 2,3 way too early.
Pretty sure it didn't spin on that run. Got a good burnout in. The jump in RPM was mostly coming up on the converter I think. I didn't even two-foot it - it was straight off idle. I probably backed off a bit just because I was being tentative.

Water injection did not work at all that run, so any drop it temp was probably just the nice cold day slowly taking out heat soak.

Log 2

Interesting log - over rev was wow

Burnout was nice 7 sec no boost run.

1st to 2nd over rev - 6700 rpm, 10.5 psi boost - cool numbers.

2nd to 3rd - 6600 rpm 9.6 psi boost - good stuff.

MAT no cooling so good picture of boost adding heat

I though SC limited to 6 to 8 psi?

Looked like a wild run - nice.

Yeah GBX like Boof said, you are no where near the novi's max. Guys in the states are getting 15 psi on 363,s with a belt setup easy. Also, I have heard from Paxton that the Novis dont like cogs. Anyway, I think there's no reason to play with cogs for your setup anyway

Only limited by impeller speed. On the street I wouldn't see that RPM.
But imagine what that would be showing on a 289 that could easily rev that hard.
Wild run is right... that's when the top hose went!

Log 3 - final run

Good 5 sec burnout - lower revs than the last one no boost

Start small slip tentative rev drop then on boost revs climb well

1 to 2 shift 6100 boost 6.7 psi - good

water injection working well MAT dropping well - nice work

shacky run in spots to the 2 to 3 shift - 6000 rpm and 7.7 psi

steady power run in 3rd - MAT still dropping all the way to 5500 then MAT rises and a big change in power rate going to 6700 rpm and 11.5psi - dinner winner...

I enjoy reading the logs - like i am there

Did you get the trap speeds?

Have any of you guys running mafless tunes ever thought about a wastegate setup on the discharge pipe? You could then pulley the supercharger to its safe limits, and reduce boost with the wastegate. Get boost on a lot earlier. You would definitely need some sort of intercooling/meth

When you put it in those words, runs 2 and 3 sounded pretty good. Reality is much different though :(
Although run 3 was feeling good right up until the gearbox started slipping, which is where the boost gets a little crazy.

I'm in contact with Dan @ silverfox. I need to get a pressure gauge, or transducer into the box so we can see what's happening with the pressure.
Two possibilities - either it's dropping pressure there, or current pressure can't handle the torque any more.

I only bothered getting the ticket from the first run (12.4, 1.9 60ft) which was 112 - quite low, but not surprising since it changed into 3rd so early.
Both the other runs had big issues, so wasn't interested in the slips

Understandable.
2nd run has the 1 sec over rev
3rd run had gearbox slip at 5500 in 3rd

nice other numbers = potential

Only just saw this, sorry.
It's not that easy to get the boost up on a centrifugal supercharger.
To get it spinning fast enough that you'd need to bleed it off like that, it would fly to pieces on the top end.

If I had a bigger converter in it I would have boost right off the line, but still only a few PSI so still wouldn't really need to bleed it off.

Yeah but you'd pulley it so that it's still just on safe limits at your top end. So you're not over spinning the SC. on a novi 2000 for example, you could pulley it for 20 psi at your top end, and then bleed of boost so that your only running 10psi, if you wanted 10 psi obviously. Like I said, you'd need intercooling or meth though. You'd be getting 10psi a lot earlier than if you pullied it for 10 psi.

Yeah I know what you mean, but not sure how much benefit it would provide. The supercharger will naturally produce more boost as RPM increases.
The only case I can see is if you wanted to pull boost out in the middle somewhere for some reason and put it back later.

Here's a good visual of the no meth and meth runs side by side. Ignoring the fact that my gearbox was screaming for mercy in the meth run.
The numbers are pretty impressive. Even ignoring the numbers, it's clear that the air temp (yellow) rises in the first run as soon as we see boost.
And in the second run, it's the exact opposite - it drops as soon as we see boost, then rises again slightly after I let off the throttle and the water/meth switches off.
