Hi,
we have a 3 hour drive from down south.
Hoping to get there by 9am as racing starts at 10.
Not sure when Hybrid was getting there yet.

I'll be there in the morning for sure.
Re: WSID street meet - Sun 27th Aug 2017
Sydney area
Partly cloudy. High (80%) chance of showers in the afternoon and evening, with possible small hail. Winds west to southwesterly 25 to 40 km/h turning southerly 35 to 50 km/h in the early afternoon then tending southwesterly 30 to 45 km/h in the evening.
It said 20% chance earlier this morning when I checked

Sounds like water injection of another type...
Re: WSID street meet - Sun 27th Aug 2017
Yeah... my weather app is saying no rain until 4pm.
The start of the day actually looks pretty good.

Right.. well today didn't go as expected. But the car is kinda in one piece still, so that's good I guess.
If nothing else, this is another good advert for water injection. So here goes.
First run, as always, I decided to leave it in drive and let it do it's own thing.
Good burnout, nice run - 12.4 (ended up being best time)
Back to the pits to check the logs. Intake temp - 70C - no water injection
I got back into the wait line again without thinking, so decided I would just do another run, but this time I would change gears manually.
I took off thinking I was in 1st gear, manually shifted into "2nd", which happened to be neutral because I was actually in drive, not 1st
So big overrev, threw the fan belts and cut a hole in my top radiator hose. I had no idea what I had done at the time - just that I saw some coolant come out of the bonnet scoop.
I popped the bonnet, saw coolant everywhere and no obvious blown hose. I thought the worst (blown engine), but son after saw where the belt was cut. Even better, I didn't drop any on the track, so they were able to keep racing.
JBB (the legend) lent me his ute to buy a new hose and some coolant while he kept racing. New hose on, re-fit the belts (which kept wanting to twist themselves off just sitting there).
Troubleshoot the water injection and found one of the pins in the plug I used for the solenoid was not in far enough and had pushed out.
Went back out. Bad burnout, so had wheelspin, but it also fell off again up top and it looks like the gearbox slipped near the end of the run too. So I need to check fluid level in the tranny and hope it's that. Otherwise it's box out and probably full upgrades this time. Anyhoo - that run, the air temps dropped from 46 down to 30. The methanol definitely affected my AFRs - they were 11 or less most of the time.
If the bents weren't rooted, I would have put some timing in, pulled some fuel out and gone again, but there was no use.
So the good news is that under boost, water/meth injection dropped my temps from 70 down to 30. That is more than half - a bloody good result IMO.
I need to work out whether the meth is worth using long term. If I have to pull fuel out when using meth, it makes it dangerous if the injection fails, because it will end up lean.
I can use the Megasquirt to say if the intake temp goes over 45C, pull huge amounts of timing out, but not sure if that would be enough if it was way lean.
Anyway, I will get some logs available later.

Certainly an eventful afternoon for you mate. I am still happy to come with you to AA as your sponsor if you are interested.
