Questions about Mustrack, the Meitrack or the VT600 GPS trackers should be posted here.

Can you tell me which version of android it's running?
Go into settings, then all the way at the bottom, go to "About Phone".

Tell me what the android version is.

Edit:
My wifes old phone was a S4 mini which I just dug out and turned on, and it successfully installed there.
The minimum API level for the app is 19, which is KITKAT (Android 4.4)
Hmmm... Android 4.2.2 installed. Likely problem there. Just tried updating software but it says it's all up to date so perhaps the phone was too old for kitkat 4.4.

Model is GTI9192 - dual SIM

Who is your carrier?
The wife's was with Telstra.

I might be able to lower the Min required API.
I will look into it.

Ok, they probably don't really send updates out over the air.
There are other ways to get phone updates, but I will see if I can drop the API level down first.

There may be some features that require the later API level in which case I won't be able to change it.

I've uploaded a new app with a lower API that should work for you.
I have only put it in BETA at the moment in case there's issues.

Try going here on your phone:
https://play.google.com/apps/testing/co ... .meitricks

It should be version 1.9.8

I just got the update notification for this and it updated me to 1.9.8.
It seems to work OK.

So make sure you sign up to the BETA stream by following the link in the post above and you should get the new version that should work on Android 4.2.

I briefly entertained the idea of looking to build Meitricks for iphone, but then I found that you can only develop iphone apps using the "xcode" application, which only runs on Mac
Years ago apple used to deride Microsoft for being a monopoly, but only producing an application for their own operating system is doing the exact same thing.

Anyway, now at least I will not feel a shred of guilt for not providing a free app for the apple users like I have for Android users. It's not just my disdain for apple preventing it any more, but apple themselves by forcing developers to use their PC platform.

EAD apple!

Thanks Jeff. Looks like it downloaded and installed successfully. Need to go dig up the device number and PIN that I presume I set way back. Still looking around for a suitable SIM plan.

Mike,
if you are happy to go without SMS and just use the website and GPRS parts of the app, you can go with the plan I changed to.
I'm now using the Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband Data Pass and recharged with a $50 charge that will not expire for 12 months.
I just grabbed one of the $2 Telstra sim cards.

If you avoid using SMS, this is more than enough for a years tracker usage and is a very cheap option.
Now that I have added the ability to send email alerts, you can go that way instead of using SMS.

You can get the PIN out of the tracker by hooking it up via the USB cable again and using the meitrack software.
If you're not sure of the phone number, just wait until you find a plan and you can make it send you a text by pressing the SOS button - provided your regular phone number hasn't changed.

Looking at Telstra Pre-Paid Mobile Broadband and the recharge options show the credit must be all used within 28 days yet you can also rollover the unused data. Huh?!?

Just did some basic from the MeiTricks mobile app. Works good with a quick test.

Hey Jeff... Can you confirm the tracking website details? I am being prompted by the MeiTricks app for username and password when I go to hit the Live Tracking and the History tabs. Getting an error for my email and password when inputting. Have you changed host or anything. Hitting the Mustrack link here on my fruitpad (https://winsto.net/mustrack/index.php?p=home) takes me in ok it seems
