Re: The new project
Haha- that WILL keep you out of trouble!!! What are the plans for it?
Re: The new project
Not in a mad rush Moe (I say that now)
Goin the whole hog mate.
2 slide outs, full fit out and build a trailer to tow around behind that will fit a 67 hardtop!
We are not leaving it until we are to bloody old.
Most on here know I lost my wife to illness 6 years ago.
It opened my eyes to the fragility of life.
Life isn't a rehearsal.a we only get one shot at it so we plan on making the most of it!
And this opportunity came up out of the blue.
You wouldn't believe what I paid for this rig.
It's a 90 model Merc
180 hp turbo six, 6 spd box and highway diff.
Been on a country school run all it's life with full service history.
The guy that owned it spent $28 k on an engine rebuild
The shop that did it didn't put new head studs in when they bolted the new head on, with disastrous results!
She has a big hole in # 5 piston.
Luckily I have a mate that is a diesel mechanic so he is going to sort that out for me.
Lookin forward to getting into it!

Good luck - Interested to follow this project as it goes.
I will someday think of something clever to say.
Re: The new project
You are kidding me Doug. What the fuck are you going to do with that.
Double posts everywhere, plus two threads also.
You are sucker for punishment Doug but I understand the reasoning and can't wait to watch this thing come out of your brain onto our screens. This one is going to be fun.

Re: The new project
About a year and a half ago My mrs told me NO!! when i came home after a test run of a Merc bus for $1500. I kept passing this stripped down bus set back on a property and just went up and asked, all the panels and windows were there he had stripped them to clean up the steel frame, started and ran nice. Wanted to make a camper but I also had to ague the fact it is a movable kids play room if i didnt get around to it like the rest of my projects. Spewin when about 6mth later he had put all back together and had 5k on it.
Will enjoy you future updates, been watching Extreme RV on foxtel lately
