Time to start my rebuild project

Post by LEEH69 »

Well finally about to start the repairs to the old girl, so good time to think about a full rebuild.
we now have another front clip to swap over, just waiting for the door and front guard to arrive.
planning on a few upgrades and mods along the way,
The car is now in the repair shop along with the new front clip so they are just about ready to start.
I've had the car stripped down since February, so been a while waiting..... so let the games begin :

Lee, i'm one of those Guy's that wanders through wrecking yards and feels so sorry for all the unloved cars that I want to take them home. To see a wreck brought back to life is a good thing, but you do need a starting pic!

Well out with the old and in with the new, as they say,

the damaged front end is removed, still have to unstitch the chasis rails, and get pulled to re-straighten, then cut and regraft the new front clip,

Put some wraps on the towers before install. Easier at this stage.

Also check the welds on the flanges of the lower arm mounts as they are often cracked (I run a weld bead on the inside).
