This will only lead to more internet based identity theft as some will try to avoid extra charges by using other peoples details.

My US business is based in CA so I am tax exempt when buying parts. It is the "end user" that pays the tax. I add it in here so I can pay the CA & IRS taxes over there. Of course then I have to pay the feds here as well...
Don't worry, you guys were already paying tax before, just that it was not shown.
It will add up to about another 10% to the US side that gets taxed again when arriving in Australia (inc the freight). If buying Summit, Jegs, NPD (for example) they are not in CA, however most states will soon follow suit.
