How to post photos that are stored on your computer

Post by hybrid »

This is a shameless rip of Foresight's handy picture tutorial.

This is for everyone that isn't quite sure how to display photos in their posts that are stored on their computer like the photos you may have taken of your own car and uploaded to your computer from your camera.

(If you want to post pictures that are already hosted on the web use this thread:
How to post pictures - that are already hosted on the web

If anything changes let me know and I will update it.

Hope this helps!

Cheers

Foresight

Please limit pics to 800 wide (the website should do this automatically now)

1. Go to the photobucket.com and click "Sign Up"

2. Fill in the fields and then click "Next"
3. Fill in the fields and then click "I accept. Sign me up"
4. After the registration process, look for the Upload button and click it

5. Click "Choose photos & videos"

6. Browse to the photos folder on your hard drive, select one or more photos to upload and click "Open"

7. The photos will now upload (Time depends on your internet speed)
8. Once the files are uploaded, click on the library button

10. We now need to get the forum links for your pictures. There are two ways to do this:
a) Hover the cursor over one of your newly uploaded pictures, and click the gear icon in the top right of the picture, then select "Get Links".
In the popup window, click on the IMG link text shown highlighted. The text will changed to "Copied" momentarily.

OR:
b) If you are viewing the image, there will be a set of links on the right hand side of the page. Click on the text beside "IMG". The text will change to "Copied" momentarily.

12. Return to the forum and paste the IMG link into your post
13. Look at your awesome post!
