Re: So my Yella Terra Roller rockers started making a high rattling /ticking sound

Nothing wrong..... if it was a diesel :) I don't know the answer but perhaps there is some geometry issue there? To my poor eyes it looks like the 3 rollers pictured all have different wear patterns? A quick ask of Dr Google reveals that soft springs will give valve bounce, so can you run the thing...

Re: So my Yella Terra Roller rockers started making a high rattling /ticking sound

Okay guys, an update. BTW, I was revving this motor to 6k, even kissed 6.5k a couple of times when I was running 2 Ducatis but then I spoke to my engine builder and he said don’t go over 6k as it wasn’t a scat crank. So yes, I’ve been over 5.5 a few times so maybe the damage is valve bounce? I will ...

Re: So my Yella Terra Roller rockers started making a high rattling /ticking sound

Yes, the engine builder did the complete build and supplied all parts. Being hydraulic there is no adjustment. I'll get the springs tested before I talk to him. Looks like heads off - again! I'm tired of working on motors, I just want to drive it. For the money I've spent on this car, I could have b...

Re: 347 dyno results

Love the gear in that motor, top shelf which is nice. That looks like good hp, I assume at the rear wheels? Can you post a full pic so we can see rpm and torque under the curve? This is my old engine graph before the rebuild. I was about to get a dyno but roller rockers are dying. https://i.ibb.co/X...

Yes, not holding my breath, he will probably deny they are too soft hence taking up my mates offer to test them before going to him and also getting a report back from Yella Terra.

So my Yella Terra Roller rockers started making a high rattling /ticking sound

So my Yella Terra Roller rockers started making a high rattling /ticking sound as they came back to idle. Pulled them out on the noisy side and they are scored? The oil is changed every 12 months, Penrite HPR30 (20w-60) as recommended by my engine builder. No 3 (the third pic) is the worse. https://...

Re: Edz 66 Convertible

Forgot to say, bought a fibreglass bonnet ($725) for my convertible and side scoops the same as my current car for the coupe I have to build ($120)from a guy who makes them in Victoria - hope it fits! Re: Project Lil Blue Coupe

Love all the colour coded engine parts - nice! Cool idea with the sandblasting cabinets, I have one and thought it would be nicer if it was bigger, but 2 lined up solves the problem? Did you swap the 1st boxes open door to the left end so you have access from both sides? How do you use the ones up h...

Re: Edz 66 Convertible

Thanks for that Ant, I'll test it that way. the engine stopped because I have a separate ignition relay circuit to turn a bunch of things on with ignition on like the ICE ignition and MSD Fuel Injection so when the horn shorted it blew a fuse. Didn't spot it when I stopped. My brakes were too good s...

Re: hybrids 1966 Coupe Project

Hybrid, I feel your pain. I bought Hedman 88658 headers 'guaranteed to fit a 351 LHD' and had to bash the crap out of them and the shock towers. They did however clear my AOD and AODE. https://i.ibb.co/GVwdJSw/Header-no-clearance-resize.jpg https://i.ibb.co/vkrvqB4/Header-no-clearance-resize-2.jpg

Re: Edz 66 Convertible

Thanks Hybrid. yes, the wiring is rabid, all going to be ripped out with a new harness when I go RHD. The clue was the horn going off and getting stuck on, only stopping when I turned the wheel when the car shut down? My question is, why are there two spring loaded contacts on the column that touch ...
