Pertronix installation
Hi. Have searched using the "search" function with no hits, so apologies of the answer to my question has been addressed previously. I have '65 289 coupe (4bbl) that I am wanting to install a Pertronix (1) Ignitor. Now, as far as I know, the car still has the pink resistor wire, hence it n...

Re: Water pumps.
Thanks for that... didn't realise the diff between NOS/OEM and aftermarket impellers.. :-| ...Upon more reading, is coolant weeping from the "weep hole" in the water pump acceptable, or is it really an indication that the water pump is about to crap itself? Can a water pump be &quo...

Water pumps.
Ok. (I'm on a roll with cooling - if I've got to take it apart I may as well do it proper and have all I need to replace bits if necessary....!)
What is better/best - a new (cast iron) water pump or a "reconditioned/rebuilt" one?
Or is it much of a muchness?

Re: Thermostats
Thanks for that.
As I can get the Tridon from Supa****, I wasn't sure of the quality. I'll take a squiz at eBay, too.
Testing prior makes sense..
Thanks!

Thermostats
Will be revisiting my stock '66 289 cooling system soon, and after Googling, a 180 degree thermostat is recommended.
Is Tridon (with the jiggle pin) a reputable brand?
If not, which brand would you recommend?

LED dash globes
Hello all. Am looking to replace my current dull stock dash lights with apparently brighter LEDs A few Q's... a) If I want the current green dash colour, am I better to get white LEDs and use the stock blue diffusers, or get Green LED's and remove the blue diffusers? The reason I ask is that my assu...

Re: Poor quality parts
Kilkenny Castings $75 thermostat housing for 289 Windsor. (part # W02/W02A). Outlet diameter is half the diameter of the original due to very thick wall casting. Bypass hose attachment point very thick and would require filing down mould casting joins to ensure the hose fits snugly and wouldn't leak...

Re: 66-68 seats
OK, thanks! You read my mind, though! What's a good seat upgrade that has a locking type mechanism, but keeps with the old school style? I was thinking of the '68 seats, but not sure if they can be bolted straight into a '66 with no modifications. And '68 upholstery doesn't have the Pony style two t...

66-68 seats
I see from a previous post that '66 upholstery will not fit a '68 seat, is that because the foams are different?
Will '66 seat buns and upholstery fit '68 "low back" frames?
Thanks in advance.
