Cooper Cobra GT tyres importer?
Cooper tyres OZ doesn’t import the Cobra GT muscle car RWL tyres into OZ. They mostly do the Cooper 4WD tyres etc. Yet as we know, the Cobra GT car tyres are here.., So does anyone know who it is that brings them in? Because I’m trying to put a set together and the odd dealers advertising them don’t...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
Well that's probably my last post for a wee while as I'm back stateside for work. Taking the opportunity while I'm here to buy a few parts I couldn't get locally and save the crazy postage to OZ. Hope to post again sometime later in Feb. All the best until then.

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
Well have done a fair bit since the last post. Fuel & brake lines and rear axle fitted. Engine bay fitted out, wiring harnesses mostly in, firewall insulation pad on, etc. What I'm sure is no surprise to more Mustang experienced people than I, is how many necessary fasteners are missing even whe...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
And with that in mind I needed to tackle the dash / vent panel. Another tricky labour intensive bit. So all sanded and black etched and ready for some 2K metallic satin black mixed to the Ford spec. https://i.postimg.cc/wvJHYGSL/Dash-Vent-panel-ABOVE.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/hPKnNMMQ/Dash-panel-ETCH...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
Thanks, but try as I may the odd nick still appears... Anyway onwards. Rear axle is in, steering systems in and slowly fitting out the engine bay with the stuff I won't be able to get to with the engine installed. Fitted the little Wilwood hydraulic clutch reservoir. (part of the Modern Driveline TK...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
So finally off the rotisserie. On axle stands and blocks for back up. decided to fit out the suspension, brakes and steering so its mobile. Coming together although a couple of upgrades I purchased have been disappointing. Firstly the urethane sway bar bushes. They are a crap fit as their brackets n...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
Well now that the underside and engine bay / aprons are done, like a kid at Christmas I couldn't resist bolting on some shiny parts. Probably not the right thing to do just yet, but I want it on its wheels (old trailer wheels for now) so I can roll it around the shop and trailer it for final paintin...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
Ha! Yup and on NOS 1993 mfg Ford fenders to boot! I couldn’t believe it when I found them all still boxed up in NY in 2015. Found another job missed by the PO. He failed to put either the back up light or drain holes in the drop off panels he installed... So some web time searching dimensions and lo...

Re: Finally - the Bullitt begins! :-)
Finally, after a few days detailing the underside and engine bay / aprons etc, I painted the underside (2K Intergard 269) and the engine bay / aprons (Hi-Chem 2K Satin Black 30). Only 2 years late! Thanks so much to all those lockdowns... Came up nicely I think. The satin black paint is fresh in thi...

Re: Sealant / adhesive recommendations
Thanks Kerry, have a shutz gun so might buy a can and give it a go. Water based shouldn't react with anything silicon I'm guessing... UPDATE: That Wurth Aqua Shutz worked a treat! Looks factory correct, dried fast and no stickiness. I guess if I was being really picky its not as jet black as the old...

Re: Sealant / adhesive recommendations
Thanks for the reply. Wurth has a good name so I guess it would work fine. Not sure it matches the wavy appearance of the Butyl OEM stuff, which is what I'm aiming for. Interesting they label it "Korrosionsshutz" in German, as Shutz is what Ford / GM called the gunk they applied in the 196...

Re: Sealant / adhesive recommendations
Yes it sounds like the sound deadener I used. Its the traditional Butyl type stuff. In OZ its offered by Motospray. To get the OEM wavy effect you have to use a special nozzle / gun. Which instead of a paint type nozzle has a longish tube with quite a big ID. They're cheap to buy. I think in the sta...

Sealant / adhesive recommendations
Hi, I've had bad luck with the OEM wavy type spray on sound deadener, reacting with the commonly used (and well cured) Sikaflex panel sealants / adhesives. Like their popular 227 type. The result is a permanently sticky surface where the 2 meet, (it never ever dries...). I emailed both Sikaflex and ...
