Check the aux post on the starter solenoid - the one that feeds 12v to the coil when the starter solenoid is pulled in. I have had 2 solenoids (scott drake) weld that contact closed and did exactly what your describing. When they fail it feeds 12 volts straight to the coil even though the ignition s...

Maybe try the 71-73 Mustang site? Don from Ohio Mustang Supplies and Mike from Motorcity Mustangs I think would definetly have the switch you are chasing. Do you have 12v at the coil? I just changed mine to a blaster 3 and forgot that ford run a resistor in the loom on the run wire so the coil only gets about 7-8v. Ran like a chaff cutter and couldn't figure out why until the I contact on the starter solenoid welded shut and left 12v on the coil like ...
