I have read the tech article, www.mustangtech.com.au...id=19.html

Does anyone have a seller on eBay they have used when buying a replacement starter motor. I am over the starting issues I have been having. I have looked at a few sellers but they can sound so different in what they are offering.

Mine is a standard 289.

Kerry got one from Repco at trade price that was similar to the $150 I got mine for.
This mob is selling it for $183 inc postage:

As long as the part number is right, you should be fine. Just make sure it's Bosch and not a knockoff.

I got one from that Sparesbox mob a few months ago for $164. While their price has gone up, their service and communication was good and postage was free.

Car will drive fine then go to start and it’s dead. Have to be push started, decided to uigrade starter and battery.

Thanks for feedback

Check the alternator charge first.

Yep... you should have 13.5 - 14v measured at the battery while the engine is running.

Drive around to Dr Darryl and he'll check it out for you.

Can't believe I forgot about Bosch starter motor....my solenoid keeps needing a tap with a hammer lately so I just purchased a CVR one a couple days ago ☹️

Yeah my solenoid has been getting stuck pretty consistantly now. Only after it has been sitting at home for a bit, seems to be fine after a short stop. I make sure I have a hammer in the car now.

I would check the solenoid before the starter.
