Oooh, that is nice. I notice they even supplied a little packet of grease to help ease the money from your palm. Poke

Not wrong Nassi, that kit was not cheap. I tried to get out of it but had no choice. Nice piece of kit though. Bearings looks nice.

AU$$150 is not a lot to "officially" spend. No real need for the grease Snigger

Still very hard to explain why a couple of bearings cost 1/4 of whole motor.

There is a 4r70w that just popped up on gumtree. it's in brissy but would only cost about 50 bucks with e-go to ship here.

Cheers Husky, I have all but made up my mind on GV. For my set up and car it will actually be the easier option and will not cost any more in real terms than the AODE. Dollar has risen too over the last couple of weeks. Now to just pull the trigger.

That's the same one that was on the bay a month or so ago. Decided it was too much to retrofit even though I already have an AOD in the car.

Probably $1000 too much for an unknown box.

Also the 4r70w is just different enough to the aod/aode that all I could reuse from the AOD is the flexplate. So you would be another $2K out of pocket to make it fit.

Yes and no. The high price tag is more the fact these are so hard to find in australia. If you had your heart set on a 4r70w, then you would jump on it, otherwise you might be waiting another half a year.
