Hey enough of the 'my C6 is badder than your C6' contest already. What does a GV do for you? And who did Ronin pimp himself out too for a C6 in the end? (No pun intended-really none at all!!!)

Gear Vendors adds an extra gear on the output shaft of your gearbox. So essentially can turn your 3 speed auto into a 6 speed.
Or you can just engage it in top gear only, and use it just as an overdrive - which is what I would do because 6 speeds is a bit wanky and will end up changing gears more often than not.

Pity you have a 5 speed. If it was a 4 speed toploader, then the GV would have been a great addition without any floor mods.

I'm really looking forward to getting it in the car - especially driving from my place up to Penriff each day or at least if I have option of getting home, the over drive will come in handy when I'm zinging down the M4.

So contacted a local Gv supplier, they can get me in a C4 tail shaft extention, for $1500....

Next step is to get the C4 serviced tomorrow, and then either see if I can source a C4 extention for cheaper, or take one of you gentlemen (and i use that term very loosely) on the offer of a C6. Which, relaistically, may be the better option - I can plan the swap, get the C6 serviced, get a tail shaft made or shortened, lay everything out and hopefully get the swap done over a weekend.

Any of the GV users got any hot tips for young players on install?
