Again, as usual, you are either not reading all the comments, not understanding, or choosing not to listen.

Just to clarify Kerry's frustration for you Bas.

Imagine Kerry asked you on a forum for some computer advise.

Ozbilt: "My computer is a piece of shit. When I watch porn I cant see any nipple definition & the money shots look like a haze. I cant get over the line unless I can fix this up & my balls are turning blue. Please help!

Bas: Hi Kerry, I too enjoy a nipple in HD. I would love to help you. First question is what is your current set up?

Ozbilt: A screen, a keyboard, a box with a switch & a hairless mouse.

Bas: What graphics card do you have.

Ozbilt: I checked the card from the fella at Parklea markets I bought it off & it says Mustafa

Bas: No mate, the graphics card inside the computer.

Ozbilt: Where is that bit?

Bas: Inside the box with the switch on it. Or if you go to hardware in your control panel it will tell you.

Ozbilt: Hardware? F#%k that I dont have time to go to Bunnings!

Bas: No No. Its in the menu in windows.

Ozbilt: Dont talk to me about windows. Fu*^#ng useless Chinese. I am going to headbutt Aaron next time I see him.

Bas: WTF. Ozbily, check your graphics card or get someone who knows to take a look at it for you. Then I can give you the info you seek.

Ozbilt. I am getting really toey now. Can anyone else help.

Bas: I told you what 2 do!

2 weeks of silence.

Bas, as you are running the same wheels as before with no clearance issues then a 4.5" backspace is still ok. Your wheels now are 8" from memory? If so then a 17 x 9 with a 4.5" backspace will fit easily. The inner will sit exactly where it is now & the outer will sit where it was with the original diff in it.

If you want to go 10" or 11" then you need to remeasure to work out where the breakup of the extra inch or 2 will end up. EG: maybe 5" backspace? But this is where you need to measure your clearances. Use the sheet I posted the link for & you will be sweet. No one is going to be able to give you a definitive answer with out getting the tape measure out, unless you are happy with a 9" & stick with a 4.5 backspace.

Thanks Steve, "what I would really like"....doesn't matter as it will cost a bomb..i.e about $1100/rim not inc tyres or freight.

But to try and keep costs down, there are rims like the ones from Mustang Depot, that are 17x9.5 (427P Series Polished Rim/Polished Center) which you can choose your own own backspace i.e 4.5 and are $450/rim....now that's much better than $1100/rim....and yes need to account for shipping etc.

Thanks for clearing that up, I know I can be a little Loopy sometimes.

What I would do in that case is go 9.5" with a 5" back space. (Check that you still have at least 3/4" clearance to the inner arch) Then you can use a spacer to tweak it a little to get it sitting where you want. Spacers are commonly used but technically illegal so you make your own decision there. That is about your best option without getting someone to measure it properly & ordering custom wheels to suit.

Thanks Stevo Like

I'll check the clearance to the inner arch again and make sure I have atleast 3/4"....if that's the case then I'll go with a 5" backspace and the 17*9.5" from Mustang Depot.

If the diff is shorter, then the backspace is less, so a 4 1/2" backspace on a standard diff would become a 3 1/2" backspace on a 1" shorter diff (1" shorter each side).

But what would I know, I know nothing about computers ...... Wink2

The wheels he has now are 4.5 backspace. He isn't worried about keeping the track the same. If he has enough room 5" will work.

Now go and check your graphics card!

I cannot believe this. You are going to spend at least AU$1500 on a PAIR of rims (or AU$3K on 4) when you could slide the correct diff under the rear & fit local wheels. Then you are going to buy tyres to suit.

This is getting more stupid by the minute. All this so you can have a wank when people say WOW..... Loopy

On another note, I have a question .......

My computer is a piece of shit. When I watch porn I cant see any nipple definition & the money shots look like a haze. I cant get over the line unless I can fix this up & my balls are turning blue. Please help!

Just another thing. IF you (Baz) get pulled over by the cops & they ask for an engineers report, do you have one?

That would be "interesting" with the bride in the car & you can go no further .........

The track being altered, the size of wheels etc would require one. The track cannot be altered, so you will be looking for a 67 sized diff anyway.

Again, what would I know.

BTW, no one has answered my question yet ..... Impatient
