Ok that will be it for this group buy.
I'll cap it at 19 so I can buy one extra to keep as a spare.
Once I get a shipping price, I'll have a final cost and will post up some banking details.

Do you know if there are any on-going costs for this device?

You'll need to buy a $2 pre paid sim and then whatever plan you put the sim on...
Most mobile carriers now have long term credit plans of 6 - 12 months
Vodafone for example have one year plans for $20
www.vodafone.com.au/pe.../index.htm
You just have to remember to top the thing up

Else Post paid you're looking around $10-$20/M depending on carrier.

Yeah, the only ongoing cost is the cost of whatever sim card you decide on.

Birchy,

I just went and had a look at those vodafone 1 year plans and unless i am doing something wrong on the site, they want you to package a phone with the sim.

There was a pretty cheap phone in the list at $29 so all up $50 for the year, still pretty good.

Could someone else check this as i have probably missed something.

Gary

My expectation is that will be because you are not logging in with a pre existing sim.
Hence my suggestion to go buy a sim for $2.

Keep in mind, they will ALWAYS try to bundle..
Even when you buy a sim.. dont go to Dick Smith etc, as they pretty much ONLY have bundled sims.. that come with a $20 Crap.. sorry Cap.

Go to telco store of your choice.. and just buy a sim (alone they are like $2).. activate it in store or online.. then recharge with 365 day plan.

BTW, this is my opinion only.. as I have not tried it with Vodafone... I only found that plan while looking for long term pre paid accounts.

Dont even get me started on how useless "Cap" plans are..

Not bagging Vodafone, but I had to go to another provider as the coverage around my area was so poor. This was a shame as I did like their plan.
Just something to keep in mind for those of us who live on the fringe.
cheers

Thats a good point nassi.. whats the good of it if the sim cant send and receive sms' due to coverage issues..
I think most of our 'travellers' are on Telstra, but their plan is no where near Vodafones.. www.telstra.com.au/mob...-life.html

Optus isnt too bad:
personal.optus.com.au/...aid_plan_1

Virgin:
www.virginmobile.com.a...ong-expiry

I cant find any long term plans with 3.. they are 60 days like Telstra
