I hate you, I have always wanted one of them. Getting sick of the carby already. Are they any different/harder to tune?

We'll find out mate, but I dont think it will be a problem Ive always had multiple carbs on Jags MGs and 6 cylinder holdens as long as they all suck the same they work fine. Get mine working then get Boof on to an ECU for you.

I do not see it being hard to tune. There are two areas that are more difficult with an 8 stack.
1) Idle - we will close the TBs and use a idle valve instead. So should be fine.
2) Initial opening of the stack will be a rush of air so acceleration enrichment will need some time to get right as it will go initially lean fast. Just tuning but will take a little longer than a normal set up. Maybe.

We will use ITB mode though SD initially to get idle up and running.

I will someday think of something clever to say.

Does each intake have a vacuum source so you can run a map, or do you run the fueling off the tps? Or a bit of both?

The manifold has a plenum as a vacuum source and there is like a 3/8 hole drilled from this into each runner below the TB. So this is the overall vac we will use for MAP. I'll machine up block and mount an idle control valve and tap in this plenum, this way we can bleed some air into it for independent idle control. I'm going to go for a walk around the wreckers and find a suitable IAC, though the ones from a 3.9 landrover V8s have nice cast housing which I could maybe just bolt straight up.

Yeah nice. Using an IAC is a great idea, I reckon you'll save yourself a lot of idle tuning dramas with an IAC

I have set it up for a 4 wire stepper - easiest source is to pull one from an old V6 commodore. This is what I have done for quite a few I have completed.

Note Get the wire and plug / pig tail as well as the stepper.

If you get stuck, you can get one of these from DIYautotune

They suit a jeep 4ltr IAC.
Or just use a bosch PWM like I'm using.

The jeep one would be fine as it is a 4 wire IAC while a PWM Bosch or otherwise is not ok as I did not build the driver circuit for it. Yes that alloy block is what we need to build for this set up. We also need a small air filter as the air input.

If we put it down the back Ill run a small hose into one of the rear ram tubes then it gets filtered with the rest of the air. One rear ram has a hole it suspect this is for air temp

I think I have a little air filter here. Supercheap used to sell them, but not sure they do any more.

Free to good home if you want it. Could have sent it up with the injectors if I knew.
Mine is fed from the supercharger hat now, so don't need this.
16mm hole
