G'day guys, first post here and I'm already asking for help!

I know this has been covered off on before, but im still a little lost.

So I've installed the 67 AAW kit, and I'm nearing the end of the installation, with only the rear lights left to hook up. I've purchased a set of the LED back-up / indicator lights from Steph and I'm a hitting walls here.

I know I've got to swap the brake switch wire ( 17A - white ) with the back-up light switch. Now is that the wire that runs to the NSS?

Additionally, is the trunk I swap the brake light wire with the light green back-up lamp feed.

Is this correct or have I managed to stare at this so long I'm not understanding what really needs to be done?

I appreciate any help in advance, and I'll get some photos up soon.

Cheers!

You need to scan the LED schematic & post here. That will help any explanation.

Welcome to Mustangtech.

Which kit did you get? It is hard to help without knowing how it is design to be wired up - as suggested a wiring diagram for the kit will help.

I will someday think of something clever to say.

Ronin, Welcome to the forum! What is the rear light configuration?
i.e. are you running separate tail lights, brake lights, indicator lights & reverse lights or are the reverse lights shared with the indicators?
Are the indicators shared with brake lamps?
etc etc.

Have you got any naked photo's of your Mrs? Would you like some? Laughing

(thought I'd christen the newcomer straight off the bat fella's !! - I'll help him with the answers but we both need to laugh in the process)

I'm assuming this is the AAW kit you're using.
AAW 1967 Mustang kit

If Im reading the OP correctly, he is simply doing the mod of moving the indicators down to the reverse lamps..
albeit using LEDs and AAW wiring.

Assuming both are designed to work with stock systems, then the process is the same..
The brake and backup circuits need to be swapped at the column, and at the housings.

That would be assuming the LEDs are single input though.. which Im guessing they are not.
If they are 1157 type.. then you will actually need an additional wire

See the description here if this is the kit you are using..

This kit is for cars with an extra wire added from the brake switch to the rear of the car.

HA! I like this place already!!

I left out some pretty pertinent points - but hey, it was zero dark thirty and I was still downing my grande latte enemia.

So I'm using the Mustang project dual back-up light / turn signal indicator system with the AAW 67 retro update kit, and the LED "batwing" brake lights.

The stock bulb sockets have three wires coming out of them - Black x 2 , black red x 1.

So the goal here is, as Suspect stated, to move the indicators down to the back-up lights, leaving the brake lights to do just that - sear the eyes of ball-bag Mosman drivers with burning red leds.

Photos to follow.

The stock bulb holders would have 3 wires (or more specific, 3 groups of wires). The black going to ground (earth) from the side of the socket. The other 2 wires are tail lights & stop/flasher lights.

You move the flasher light wire to one side of the dual filament socket that would be now in the backup light.

So now all you have is tail lights in the rear.

You now need to run a wire from the "output" of the brake switch to the rear of the car & connecting to the brake light side of the tail light sockets.

Make sense?

BTW, welcome to the mad house ...... Wink2

Okay here's the AAW wiring schematic that I'm working with. I'll take some photos of the actual setup in the boot.
