Sean, I could have, but thought all I was entering was a bunfight. Also, I don't know the background so could have just inflamed it more than it already was. I did not want to push it further down that road.

As you have probably heard there was some upheaval just before the Nationals. I hope they have sorted themselves out for their sakes.

Apparently we can vote by mail, there is something about it in one of the 100 or so posts that responded to Sean's comment. I am guessing we will find out more with the next pony magazine, I hope anyway

Hey Ausjacko, ACTstanglover and all ,

Phil P has quoted on the MOCA Forum in a thread that has achieved notoriety for all the 'wrong' reasons that an E-mail will be sent to ALL MOCA members on Wednesday the 13th.

This e-mail will give members the methods of Casting a vote without attending the AGM, Phil states e-mailed votes are accepted.

So for all of you that cannot make it to the AGM you will have your say. Although I reckon most in Sydney without a super valid reason should come along to Merrylands RSL.

They do a great feed in the café's and Bistro and you all get to say face to face giddays to all these other Members.

Regards
Lance

Well Lance , i was the one who first asked about proxy voting on the other forum.

Phil gave the sarcastic smug reply that "anyone who has been a member for 2 years or more would be aware that they could do a postal vote". Jerk

Well i have been around for quite a few years now and id never known!!!!
and contrary to his Bulls... that everyone always gets emails about election voting, i do not recall ever having received an email before regarding election voting.

How can the members even trust them to count email votes or even postal ones ( or like getting the Pony Express, will they just check the post box and emails a week AFTER the election.

OH , please pardon my ignorance.
In the MOCA election, who chairs the election and counts the votes??

Moca committee? moca members??
Or does an external person do it??

thanks

Wow, just read that other thread. How do I activate the hidden text, as there is obviously more to the posts than what I can read.

I must say I am sympathetic to the view that you play by the club rules and if you don't like them then get stuck in and have a go yourself; I think that is what is happening here.

The response to the news of a potential newbie from a few is pretty surprising and rather unfortunate. If their written (read more considered than what would ordinarily flow) responses are indicative, then divergence of view at a meeting must be a rare thing indeed.

Sameness leads to entropy - a bad thing for any group. Equally as poor is any move that reverses or dishonors the hard work of others through the years.

I want someone to say 'Duggo' so the moderator gets involved and someone gets banned. There is one who should have already been banned in my view.

Hey John,

The AGM is chaired independently......Sometimes by a MOCA Member.

Cheers Lance..

Hey John
Then if you receive no notification from MOCA by the 14th then e-mail and text the committee..
Cheers Lance

I am only a more recent member to MOCA, maybe 3 years or so, having only attended 1 meeting. However I will be making sure to get my vote in on this one.

Lance, good to see someone who is willing to take a stand and in my humble opinion do somethings the club needs.

Regards & Good Luck

Honestly speaking I felt like I didn't belong, I was new to the club, they asked for a small speech/intro about the car, etc which I gave and then basically everyone ignored me. I think 1 or 2 guys said hello after the meeting and 1 actually wanted to see the car which was downstairs....

Beyond that I have found that a lot of the people are very cliquey and at the few external events I attended they weren't interested, especially in a Mustang that was being Resto Modded. Also on their forum posts never get responded to, and here at least you get help or comments.

This is obviously my personal opinion, and comparisons from other car clubs I have been a member in. (Mainly newer vehicles).

Regards

GM G
