It is a custom mix that the local auto shop did for me almost 2 years ago when i found a colour i liked in a spray can (sparkling Black) but it wasnt available in a acrylic mix at the time. So we had numerous attempts at getting the colour right which we never did , the results were the 2 different shades you see now . Even though i was leaning towards the BF Falcon ego , i just kept going back to this original "Mistake" black colour i really liked.
When we tried to remix it again almost 2 years later (about 2 mths ago) we got the formulaes wrong and ended up with 4litres of the lighter grey the stripes are painted with.
Very Happy

Nice work Scott and great pics. Thumbs Up You make it all look real easy..
Trust me , if it was easy i would have finished it ages ago, i really am no good at the prep work , it has taken alot of time and patients. I have had paint running off because it is too cold , lumpy finish because it is too hot , the drivers side door has reacted for some unknown reason more than once and really needs to be stripped right back to metal again , but i have got a reasonable finish on it now. Hopefully it wont do it again when i clear it , i just want it back together even if i have to repaint it again later. At least the body will be rust free next time. Very Happy

Standing on the top step of a ladder Very Happy
The stripe is darker in real life , the best example is that pic #7 on the roof furtherest to the front. I hope it will look ok in the sun , ill proberly find all sorts of faults. Its ok it will be easy to keep it dirty because i have a limestone driveway Very Happy
The black is really hard to paint in the light i have , looks good as im spraying , but when i step back there is orange peel and a bit of overspray. Ill have to do a fair bit of colour sanding later but im happy with it. Thumbs Up
