ok, which would be better on fuel super charger or stroking to a 347?

if i was to purchase the paxton low boost super charger, what would be the approx cost of installlation cost and tuning?

also approx what horsepower gain?

ill let the gurus answer this correctly .. however i can tell you now installation is $0 .. i did mine ..and it really isnt hard .. HP gain i think depends on many factors but paxton suggest 30%-70% .. again depending on your configuration. change the pulley and you get the top end of that

Exactly - I do not trust anyone either....

I will someday think of something clever to say.

Nick - you should visit GBX and have a look at his engine and super charger (I was going to say hardware but thought otherwise). You would get a better idea what it is, how it works and what is involved.

Horsepower - make up a number - it is not really important. The range suggest by George is right but there is a lot to it. In any case, built it to enjoy and try not to get to caught up in actual numbers. If your seat-of-the-pants meter likes the performance then your a winner.

agree.. hence my comment about guys in the US bolting one on a stock engine and content with the change.. which is why ive started with that.. i might be happy with it .. but garantee you it gets addictive and will want more down the track :D...but damm the numbers 3 6 3 .. ring very well in my head now Very Happy

I can't believe you're asking about fuel ecomomy and power gain in the same post!

I think Cage and Gbx will be looking to hunt you down and show less can be more. As a spectator I sure am interested. Steve it must be good being the king.

Cage got a new plan....... Ford 460 and we can install a stroker crank to get it to 557 ci . The king has been beaten..... long live the (new) King.

www.coasthigh.com/Ford...s/1301.htm

Note: It is an option but I am kidding around - the 408 is a excellent relatively low cost option. Just want Steve the worry just a little.
