I have been putting together a list of parts to freshen up the interior of my 69 Mach1. It has been customised a bit and I know some parts have been coloured or painted to suit a white interior but the rim blow steering wheel looks original. I have been unable to find any other interior shots showing a rim blow of this colour.
Was a white rim blow ever an option? or is it just uncommon?

Never an option .....

All rim blow wheels had the wood grain.

A '69 with blue trim had a blue wheel & crash pad, but the column is blue in that, or maroon in a maroon trim car, green in a green trim car.

The dash pad drop offs in the colours mentioned above were matched to the pad.

White interiors had black dash pads, plastic dash pad drop offs are black, lower dash is always gun metal grey. Column was gun metal grey & wheel was black. Gold trim had the black wheel too

Don't think I know this stuff (well I know some of it) but at the time of reading the OP I was talking on Skype to Sean (BossKraft) while he waited for his plane to LAX at Oahu..... Wink2

I have seen a red dash pad & red wheel but was in a pre-production car (Larry Shinoda's B2 design car), assume it was an option as well.

Thanks for the feedback.
I probably won't change it out at this stage as it seems to go with the interior theme.
I'll just make sure that sun glasses are always worn otherwise you can end up with a case of "Arc Eye" from the glare.

Yes, absolutely not an option (white rimblow). If you had blue trim, you got a blue wheel, however, the column was gunmetal grey, same for a maroon trim car etc. White trim had the black wheel and gunmetal column.

Recently picked up an original bare rim blow in excellent condition for $600.
Added a repro centre pad and attached the original face to it and painted the steering column. Vast improvement over the tatty white one.
