I recon if you aim at $7000 plus or minus $2000 depending on if already stripped down or not and who does the job. Its a big plus or minus but it should take out the shock factor
Also as Nassi says if in the West add another 1-2k
One of the biggest issues that affect the cost of conversion on the car in question, is whether it has factory integral air. Crossing that over is a total time consuming biatch!!!!
The more options on the car that you want replicated (i.e tilt away steering) the higher the cost. It's not the cost of parts, but the labour required.
Probably not enough info provided in you Q mwizz, as some items can make a HUGE difference to the cost.
Some Q's which your chosen converter will ask.
1. Is the car under restoration now
2. Do you want a turn key solution.
3. Is it a power boosted disc setup (many engineers will not pass anything else)
4. Aircon/heat (as mentioned above)
5. Manual or Auto (manuals can add almost 3k to the price as there are options)
6, If car is already restored/registered, who is doing the mehanical fit out.
if you want it done properly and willing to take out engine and interior trim yourself then most mustang converters in the know will quote you $6000 (almost fixed price quote). that consists of about $4,500 worth of new RHD sheet metal. RRS sell the RHD panels to the public for that much but restorers get them for reasonably lower cost.
As you are in SA, you could take the alternative and buy Frankenstang, my 68 Coupe.
I will deliver it to SA & throw in a 97 EL fairlane for a 5.0 donor if you want a V8.
Already RHD, 4.0 ED running gear, 4 speed auto ED diff, 4 wheel discs, ED dash Column, computer & Cruise.
Has QLD LO2 approval, full QLD rego and been on the road for 9 years.
I was never going to sell him, but the princess said if i want another, then he has to go.
25k, RWC inc & delivered to Adelaide or Crystal Brook or anywhere in between there and Buderim.
