It is something I do on a lot of my custom builds. In this case it is a 1 1/4" square tube we formed into shape in the shop press so it matched the shape of the original U section. It accepts the stock hood lock.

I like modifying the metal work of cars so they accept any desired parts without having to modify them. Makes the build "mechanic friendly" and if anything breaks, it is a simple trip to the parts store.

There is a lot in this car you do not see, like Matt made the tunnel so the auto can be removed quickly. Not that it will need to be, but if building a car, why not make it easier to play with.

The upper suspension arms will be further modified to make wheel alignment less of a chore. Some bits in my parts bins found a home ....... Very Happy

Also got the sup bolted up and some rubber on the wheels
